Run a Book of Business Report (PIF by Carrier & Policy Type)

            Copied!

This guide walks you through generating a Book of Business report in Applied Epic showing policies in force (PIF) by carrier & policy type, and preparing it for submission to Quandri.

Step 1 - Navigate to the Book of Business Report

            • In Epic, go to: Reports & Marketing > Policies
            • Select the report titled: Book of Business-Line Book Report

Step 2 - Set the Report Criteria

Use the following selections to filter the PIF count needed for Quandri.

            • Department-Select: Personal
            • Client Type-Select: Insured
            • Policy Type-Select only your Personal Lines policy types.
            • Policy Effective Date-Choose: Relative Date Range & Use From System Date → -365 Days (This captures policies effective within the last 12 months.)
            • Issuing Company- Select all Personal Lines markets/carriers your agency writes with.
            • Line Status- Remove any statuses associated with: Cancellations, Lapsed policies, Quotes. Keep only statuses that represent Active In-Force policies
            • Account Status-Select only Active
            • Prospective or Contracted- Select only Contracted
            • Leave all other default settings as-is

Step 3 - Run & Export the Report

            • Run the report using the criteria above.
            • Choose Excel as the output format.
            • Open the generated spreadsheet.

Step 4 - Build the Pivot Table from Complete Details tab

Pivot Table Layout - Set up the fields as follows:

            • Rows-Insurance Company Name
            • Values-Count of Insurance Company Name (This becomes the PIF count)
            • Columns-Policy Type & Line Type

This will produce a simple table showing carriers with PIF count for active policies, broken down by line or policy type.

Step 5 - Submit to Quandri

            • Copy the completed pivot table (or save the workbook) and send it to Quandri.
