Run a Book of Business Report (PIF by Carrier & Policy Type)

This guide walks you through generating a Book of Business report in Applied Epic showing policies in force (PIF) by carrier & policy type, and preparing it for submission to Quandri.
- In Epic, go to: Reports & Marketing > Policies
- Select the report titled: Book of Business-Line Book Report
Step 2 - Set the Report Criteria
Use the following selections to filter the PIF count needed for Quandri.
- Department-Select: Personal
- Client Type-Select: Insured
- Policy Type-Select only your Personal Lines policy types.
- Policy Effective Date-Choose: Relative Date Range & Use From System Date → -365 Days (This captures policies effective within the last 12 months.)
- Issuing Company- Select all Personal Lines markets/carriers your agency writes with.
- Line Status- Remove any statuses associated with: Cancellations, Lapsed policies, Quotes. Keep only statuses that represent Active In-Force policies
- Account Status-Select only Active
- Prospective or Contracted- Select only Contracted
- Leave all other default settings as-is
Step 3 - Run & Export the Report
- Run the report using the criteria above.
- Choose Excel as the output format.
- Open the generated spreadsheet.
Step 4 - Build the Pivot Table from Complete Details tab
Pivot Table Layout - Set up the fields as follows:
- Rows-Insurance Company Name
- Values-Count of Insurance Company Name (This becomes the PIF count)
- Columns-Policy Type & Line Type
This will produce a simple table showing carriers with PIF count for active policies, broken down by line or policy type.
Step 5 - Submit to Quandri
- Copy the completed pivot table (or save the workbook) and send it to Quandri.
